HOW TO PLAY
What’s Elves vs Penguins actually like to play?
Santa’s Workshop is overwhelmed, the Penguins have been called in to help, and now everyone is racing to keep toy production moving before Santa’s Sleigh departs!
The goal is simple: complete toys and score the most points. But while you’re building, other players — and a few unpredictable Penguins — can quickly throw your plans into chaos.
BUILD TOYS
Use Toy Piece Cards and Elf Cards to start, expand, and complete toys in the Workshop.
Partial Builds begin with two matching Toy Pieces, and any player can add to them. Missing the piece you need? Elf Cards are wild and can be used as any missing Toy Piece.
BUILD ON OTHER PLAYERS’ TOYS
You aren't limited to your own Partial Builds.
You can add Toy Pieces or Elf Cards to a teammate’s or opponent’s build. Complete a teammate’s toy and your team scores the points. Complete an opponent’s toy and no one scores for it.
So sometimes the best move isn't finishing your own toy — it’s deciding what to do with someone else’s.
SEND IN THE PENGUINS
Penguin Cards are where things can get chaotic.
You might steal a Partial Build from an opponent and immediately complete it yourself, or wreck an opponent’s Partial Build and send all of its cards to the Scrap Heap.
And then there’s the Emperor Penguin...
BEWARE THE EMPEROR PENGUIN
When the Emperor Penguin appears, every Partial Build gets wrecked and sent to the Scrap Heap.
Have something you're close to completing? You might not want to wait too long.
And unlike other Penguin Cards, the Emperor Penguin cannot be blocked.
PROTECT YOUR BUILDS
Block Cards can protect your Partial Builds — or a teammate’s — from Penguin Cards.
That means sometimes holding onto the right card can be just as important as building quickly.
GO HEAD-TO-HEAD, FREE-FOR-ALL, OR TEAM UP
Elves vs Penguins changes depending on how many people are around the table:
2 Players: Head-to-Head
3 Players: Free-for-All
4 Players: 2 vs 2
6 Players: 3 vs 3
With team play, you're not just thinking about your own builds. You can help your teammates complete toys, protect their Partial Builds, and work together to outscore the opposing team.
BUILD. SABOTAGE. SCORE.
Complete toys to earn points. Most games are played over three rounds, and the player or team with the highest total score wins.
Every turn gives you choices:
What should you build?
Should you help your teammate?
Can you finish an opponent’s toy before they score it?
Should you steal it?
Wreck it?
Protect what you've already built?
Just keep toy production moving before the Penguins turn Santa’s Workshop upside down.

from 195 reviewsIt was a lot of fun!!!
So cute. Purchased as a gift.
I thought it was cute. But it ended up being a massive family hit. My teen… yes TEEN… kept asking to play one more hand. Watch the YouTube on how to play and enjoy. I immediately bought 2 more for gifts. And I mean.. within 5 min of finishing our game I was online and ordering.
Quick order delivery. Haven’t played game yet waiting for teenage grandkids review. Great quality and cute characters. Can’t wait to add to Christmas family games.
Super fun game. Easy to learn. The teenager actually liked it and wanted to keep playing.
Super cute!
my family loves this game
What a great family game! It was easy to learn, and we had fun from the first hand. The artwork is fantastic, the strategy/gameplay is unique, and we enjoyed adding some “house rules” (which we do for just about every game we play). Highly recommended
It is a Christmas present.
Received quickly and in perfect condition! I'm looking forward to playing it with at our Christmas family get together!
Excellent!
Could not be cuter! I'm giving them out as gifts to the group I play the game with. We are obsessed with the game so these will be perfect!
Cant wait to give this as a gift. Looks so fun
My Family loves playing card games. They loved this game when I brought it for my Christmas stay for a couple of weeks in Minneapolis last December. Too cold to do much outside. Can't wait to see the new Penguin game!!!
Best Holiday game, easy to learn but challenging to play. Everyone loved it
